Following the 2006 launch of the Archon X PRIZE for Genomics, the Foundation began investigating specific opportunities to identify and address the obstacles between cutting-edge scientific, technological and distributive understanding and the capture of those benefits by societies worldwide to improve health and ameliorate suffering. The design of a Life Sciences X PRIZE may include a focus on practical implementation of equipment to make usable in the field, adjustment of economic models/assumptions to unlock therapies, comparison of treatment approaches for effectiveness, synthesis of solutions across disciplines, or demonstration of new paradigms that challenge existing norms.
