A city planner by trade, Michael Martin is currently the Head of Communities at SignalFire, an AI-driven, early-stage venture capital fund.

He is also a Co-Founder and Policy Director of Free Machine, a non-profit organization that develops public policy and creative projects to shape a high-tech future that is equitable, abundant and sustainable.

His long-term goal within the AI field is to assure, through multi-stakeholder collaboration, the development of technology thats ownership is widely shared, that is democratic, and is socially-just.
