Dr. R. Shane Trussell is the President of Trussell Technologies, Inc. with more than 25 years of experience with a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley studying membrane bioreactors. Dr. Trussell has authored more than 75 publications and is a registered professional engineer in California. Dr. Trussell has been involved in the planning, permitting, design, operation and optimization of indirect and direct potable reuse projects ranging in size from 3.785 up to 750 ML/d. Dr. Trussell’s firm has also been involved with seawater desalination facilities advising on water quality, pre-treatment design, biofouling control for reverse osmosis and management of harmful algal blooms. Dr. Trussell is considered a leader in the development of potable reuse alternatives world-wide and is passionate about finding elegant and simple solutions to the complex challenges facing utilities with climate change threatening our water quality and supply.
