Founder and CEO of X.AI, Dennis Mortenson, sat down with XPRIZE a while back to tell us how his Intelligent Agent, Amy Ingram, came to be. Her initials, AI, perfectly represent what she’s here to do. Started and developed for over 2 years in the comfort of his basement, he and a few friends worked relentlessly to create an AI assistant that was so good, she’s often mistaken for a human. For now, she exists in dialogue only and can be activated with a simple cc in an email. Able to schedule meetings, appointments and send calendar invites to confirm meeting attendees, she could represent the first of many new AI-based systems with the ability to help us all save time during our busy workdays. Whether or not you can tell she is a human, simple ‘please’ and ‘thank-you’s are still good form.
