The Fire in the Pines Festival brings together local organizations in order to raise awareness of the positive benefits with controlled burning, as well as the relationship between fire and the local longleaf pine ecosystem in the southeast. This environmental educational event has been a community staple for several years. Attendees can participate for free and expect engaging hands-on activities, talking to conservation professionals, live music, arts and crafts, hay-rides, live animals and a demonstration controlled burn.
