Ben Combes is an economist, strategist, and innovator, working at the frontier of climate, energy, and nature to pioneer solutions and integrate initiatives.

He is a Director at Monitor Deloitte, as the Climate Strategy and Energy Transition lead in Economic Advisory, and formerly as co-founder of the award-winning Sustainability & Climate Strategy team. Ben is also a Visiting Senior Fellow of the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and has been a Member of the XPRIZE Foundation's Climate + Energy + Nature Brain Trust since 2024.

Ben has particularly deep expertise in climate: he was a founding team member of the UK’s Climate Change Committee in 2008, a Co-Principal to the Global Commission on the Economy and Climate in 2014, and in 2018 joined the Advisory Board to the UK All- Party Parliamentary Group on Climate Change. In 2020 he was a launch Director of the Transform to Net Zero global cross-sector initiative, a core representative for WBCSD’s global Vision 2050 agenda, launched in 2021, and joined the European Green Digital Coalition’s Advisory Board in 2022.
