Zach Semancik joined XPRIZE in September of 2025 and serves as an Associate Attorney, where he supports the organization’s groundbreaking initiatives by drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts. In this role, he ensures compliance, mitigates risk, and provides strategic legal guidance across departments, reporting directly to the General Counsel.

Zach is passionate about using his background to drive innovation, equity, and positive change. He is committed to building strong relationships with internal partners and external stakeholders, ensuring that legal strategy enables bold ideas rather than constrains them. Zach strives to safeguard organizational interests while enabling teams to move quickly and effectively toward ambitious goals.

Prior to joining XPRIZE, Zach gained experience with the Minnesota Wild, where he advised on complex agreements and supported corporate initiatives while working with the NHL on intellectual property matters. He also interned with the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks, where he provided guidance on sponsorship, vendor, and operational contracts. Through these roles, he developed a strong foundation in high-stakes negotiations and cross-functional collaboration within fast-paced, high-visibility organizations.

In his spare time, Zach enjoys spending time with his fiancée and their two French Bulldogs, rooting on his hometown Wisconsin sports teams, and exploring the Bay Area.
